FanDuel DFS Tight Ends. Travis Kelce ($14,500). This is a no-brainer, but Kelce should absolutely be in the majority of your lineups unless you want to get super creative and bold and fade him for. Oregon can “cover” by winning the game outright, or cover by losing the game by less than 8 points. If the game finishes with the exact winner and margin-of-victory “predicted” on the FanDuel betting board, i.e. Gonzaga winning by 8 points, then all bets are returned in an outcome known as a push. The tight end scored at least 22.8 PPR points in seven of his last eight regular-season games. In the NFL Playoffs, he's averaged 10.5 receptions for 113.5 receiving yards per game, scoring 3 TDs through two games. It's hard to see him slowing down now. Patrick Mahomes Fantasy. Without further ado, here are three players to target and two to avoid in Friday, 2/26, NBA DFS action.
Target Damian Lillard, PG, Portland Trail Blazers ($10,300): Putting your trust in Damian Lillard is usually a good strategy. With the Portland Trail Blazers' roster depleted by injuries, Lillard is taking on even more offensive responsibility, leading to eye-popping numbers. The All-Star has outpaced his FanDuel points per game average (47.4) in five of his last six contests, and there's little reason for that trend not to continue tonight against a Los Angeles Lakers team that has lost four straight games because of its lacking defense with Anthony Davis still out.
Target Jerami Grant, PF, Detroit Pistons ($7,600): Anyone playing the Sacramento Kings is a solid target, especially in the case of Jerami Grant. The forward is averaging a career-high 23.3 points per game this season, blowing his previous high (13.6) completely out of the water. On a Detroit Pistons roster lacking many go-to weapons, Grant is a threat to pop off any night. Against the Kings, who are allowing the most opponent PPG this season (120.5), Grant should have few problems pouring in buckets tonight.
Target Enes Kanter, C, Portland Trail Blazers ($6,300): With the Lakers on their losing skid, it's a decent plan to find players who can have big nights against them. Enter Enes Kanter, who's holding down the Blazers' frontcourt as they deal with injuries to their big men. Kanter has scored 30 or more FanDuel points in each of his last three games, thanks to him grabbing 13 or more rebounds in each of those three contests and adding two double-doubles. With Davis out again, the Lakers don't have any dominant bigs down low that can keep Kanter off of the boards, putting him in great position to notch another double-double.
Avoid Zach LaVine, SG, Chicago Bulls ($9,800): Zach LaVine is the most expensive shooting guard on tonight's DFS slate, but it's hard to see him living up to that price tag. The Chicago Bulls guard has posted 34 and 33.4 FanDuel points in his last two games, well below his season average of 43.4. And now he's set to play against the Phoenix Suns, who are allowing the fourth-fewest opponent PPG (10.81) in the league. It's hard to see LaVine having a night worth his salary.
Avoid Jimmy Butler, SF, Miami Heat ($9,200): Jimmy Butler is the glue that holds the Miami Heat together, but that doesn't always translate to the box score. On nights when he's not the team's primary scorer, his fantasy value then relies on his playmaking to prop up his numbers. However, he's not in line for a great scoring or distributing night against the Utah Jazz, who are holding opponents to the second-fewest PPG (105.9) in the league. Butler's line against the Jazz earlier this month (15 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists) was nothing special, and expect a similar performance against this dominant Utah team.
