Strategy Overview & Analysis. This system is called the Reverse Martingale for a reason. While the Martingale system advises you to double your bet after each loss, this one tells you to do the exact opposite – double your bet after each win. You start by wagering the lowest amount of money possible on one of the even bets. Martingale betting is most commonly used for double or nothing casino bets, such as standard blackjack, outside bets on roulette, or betting the pass line on Craps. This simplifies the method to. This is a companion video to the Smart Poker Study Podcast episode #233. I demonstrate strategies I learned from 'Poker Satellite Strategy' by Dara O'Kearney.
The double or nothing feature in video poker is the only other casino bet, besides the odds in craps, with no house edge. Whether or not you take it depends on your reason for playing.
Horse Racing In-play is a market on Betfair that has seen many lose their shirts on and the fast moving nature of it makes it a hard market to master. Therefore, strategies are quite thin on the ground.
However, popular Betfair racing strategy used by many down the years is the “Double Or Nothing” strategy and one that is often called “DOBing” on the forums. This is quite a viable strategy to trade in-play racing with and there are plenty who use it to this very day as part of their trading portfolio.
Perhaps one of the reasons this strategy is so popular is it because it is so simple to execute. The main idea being that you will back a horse that you fancy to run well at the start of the race. Then put in an order to lay it at precisely HALF the odds you backed it at and for double the amount you backed it at.
Then if this is matched in-play you will have a green book equal to the amount of the stake you initially went in with and you will have doubled your money.
If not then you get nothing, hence the name of the strategy!
Above you can see a horse race and we have backed a horse called Murray Mount @ 7 as we expect this horse to run pretty well and give the favourites a run for their money.
Now before the race we put in an order to lay that same horse at half of the odds we backed it at and for double the stake. So we lay it @ 3.5 with £20. Do not forget to press “KEEP IN-PLAY”!
At this point you just wait for the race to go in-play and hope for the best to occur!

If all goes well you will see a screen like the above happen once your horse gets matched at the price you wanted. In this case Murray Mount ran pretty well and actually won this race. But it did not matter if he did or didn’t as we were set to profit either way by the half-way mark.
As you can see there is a profit of £9.51 on each horse rather than £10 as this is the profit after Betfair take their 5% commission. This is important to consider as it is not actually a double or nothing as the strategy states but it is close enough!
Pros and Cons
There is lots to be said about this strategy especially since it seems so easy but is not so easy to profit from in the long term. Some of the good points about the strategy is how simple it is to execute, the fact it can be automated if you wish and do not have to actively “trade” it. Also, a 100% return is a good risk-reward ratio.
The cons of this strategy would be that lots of research is often required and as you increase the stakes you might find it harder to get matched in-play. A 4 figure lay would definitely have a hard time being taken on a rainy Monday afternoon’s racing!

Written By Graeme on May 22, 2020Tomorrow night, we will have AEW Double or Nothing 2020.
It’s an intriguing show with a lot of potentially interesting match-ups.
There are a few matches where in my opinion there is no doubt who will win, such as Mox vs Brodie Lee. However the biggest favourite on the card is MJF -910 and man – Jungle Boy winning would not be the craziest thing in the world.
I’ll go through each match and provide betting tips for it or at least my analysis.
Before we do that – if you would rather listen in podcast form, use your favourite app to check for Going Over: Bet Pro Wrestling or check us out over at BetWrestlingPodcast.com.
Let’s have a look at the odds:
Odds taken from 888 Sports.
Here’s my thoughts:
Note that I bet on a 1/4 to 1u system where
Lance Archer (-177) vs Cody (+125): I have a crazy theory about Cody and why he should win that you can hear about on the podcast. I see both sides. My crazy theory, just general common sense, but then also the fact that Cody has did the job to a lot of guys on the big show and is happy to do so. It would be a good spot to establish Murderhawk that much more and I don’t think he should be losing. I backed Cody on the podcast and I was ready to chicken out here but since then, his odds went from +125 to +200 so 1/2u bet on Cody.
MJF (-910) vs Jungle Boy (+450): I can’t back against MJF here as I believe they’re going to get to MJF vs Mox eventually. In saying that MJF is already quite established and Jungle Boy getting a win over him here would be massive in terms of giving Jungle Boy a strong push. God this is one where I’m already retracting what I just wrote. I think the price makes it worth 1/4u on Jungle Boy.
Jon Moxley (-625) vs Brodie Lee (+350): Brodie Lee winning would be one of the biggest upsets ever. Not happening unless Mox’s contract expired or something.
The Inner Circle (-150) vs Matt Hardy & The Elite (+108): When a tag team faces two singles wrestlers, the tag team should win. Same thoughts here. Stable should win. 1/2u on The Inner Circle
Nyla Rose (-200) vs Hikaru Shida (+140): I just feel they should keep Nyla Rose strong and the belt on her as it’s good for the womens division. However the price isn’t worth the risk now. It was -150 at one point and I liked that. Not anymore.
Best Friends (-150) vs Private Party (+108): Love Best Friends here. They are the ones getting more of a push and as much as I love Private Party I think they’re going to keep pushing Best Friends. 1u on Best Friends
Britt Baker D.M.D. (-250) vs Kris Statlander (+175): Not sure if this match is happening due to the injury to Britt. I’d have backed her but not at that price. Anyway I’m staying away due to the injury.
